Steven Bews
Despite being a fully qualified physician, in a move that defies common sense, Steven decided to become an actor. Throughout his three years at The Oxford School of Drama he never once said the word “Mollusc”. Training roles include Dr Kroll in Romersholm, Brindsley in Black Comedy, Sir Andrew in Twelfth Night, Edmond in Edmond and Gibbet in The Beaux Stratagem. Professional theatre includes The Prince/Peter in Romeo and Juliet (Arudel Festival), Bosen in Nelson, Uncle Henry/Chief Winkie in The Wizard of Oz, Mr Pedanski/Elya in Holes. And Steve in Scent (all with the Nuffield).
Sue Hastie
Sue graduated from the University of Wales, Aberystwyth in 2003 with a degree in drama. She made her professional debut at the Dukes Theatre, Lancaster last autumn where she appeared in Undermilk Wood, The Accrington Pals and A Christmas Carol. Sue has recently finished touring Saturday Night and Sunday Morning with The New Perspectives Theatre Company, Nottingham. Whilst training Sue enjoyed performing in productions of among others Lysistrata, Dreaming, The Duchess of Malfi, Mother Courage, Calamity Jane, Playhouse Creatures and Westside Story.
Dominic Hughues
Dominic graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University in July 2005 with a degree in Drama and Creative Writing. He started his training with National Youth Music Theatre in 2004 at the Lowry Centre where he performed in ….His professional work includes Great Expectations and Alex, The Warrior and the Winter Star with NTC and he has recently completed a rural tour of The Country Wife with Forest Forge Theatre Company. Dominic is very excited for performing in Edinburgh.
Elena Miller
Elena recently graduated from University of Leeds with a Masters in Performance Studies – Theatre as Social Intervention. Her professional work includes a national tour of Shoah and It Was a Dark and Stormy Night with the Nuffield Theatre, Southampton. She has also assisted the PuppetShip Community Interest Company in the creation of an interactive business development website and project management duties as well as nurturing her puppetry skills. Elena’s other drama-based talents include creating and facilitating drama workshops for people with learning difficulties and role-play with trainee medical students.
Claire Stanley
Claire studied Performing Arts and Music at Sunderland University and graduated in 2004. Whilst studying she performed in Rhinoceros, Twelfth Night, Road, Two, The Crucible and Our Countries Good. Her professional work includes Under Milk Wood (The Dukes, Lancaster), Peter Pan (Proteus) and most recently Under Milk Wood (OTTC). She is also a versatile musician and has composed and performed in several productions. When not acting she is a songwriter and bass player with her band who are Newcastle based.
Amanda Price - Designer
Amanda graduated from BA Hons Entertainment design Crafts at Cleveland College of Art and Design. Since graduating, she has worked on several shows both assisting design and costume. She has worked on Shoah and It Was a Dark and Stormy Night with the Nuffield Theatre, Southampton. from here she worked on two Christmas shows - How the Sea came To Be with Northern Stage and Alex, the Warrior and the Winter Star with NTC Touring Theatre Company. Amanda then worked with the Ashton Group on Asboy. Her lastest work was with Cardboard Citezans on their devised production, Visisble.
Gavin Huscroft - Director
Gavin has had many years theatrical experience as a professional actor in and around London. Performing at the Regents Park Open Air Theatre in ‘Midsummer Nights Dream’ and ‘The Tempest’ other credits include ‘Murder In the Cathedral‘, ‘Caucasian Chalk Circle’, 'Our Countrys Good', 'Rosencrantz and Gildenstern Are Dead' and most recently ‘The Prison Plays’ by Tom Haddaway.
Gavin Has recently graduated with a BA in drama from Sunderland University he decided to expand his knowledge in directing. After being chosen to take part in the Interact Scheme Gavin has worked with Ian Hastings at The Dukes Theatre Lancaster on ‘Under Milk Wood’, Gill Hamberton N.T.C, ‘Great Expectations’ and ‘Alex The Warrior And The Winter Star’ ‘Beauty And The Beast’ and ‘Under Milk Wood’ with Brendan Murray at O.T.T.C. Other credits include ‘Angels In America‘, ‘Dr Faust ‘and ‘Women In My Past’ a one Woman Show staring Val Mclane
